Reflections on
The Seven Spiritual Laws

O SON OF BEING! Bring thyself to account each day ere thou art summoned to a reckoning; for death, unheralded, shall come upon thee and thou shalt be called to give account for thy deeds.

Many of us grew up with the belief that achieving success requires relentless hard work, grim determination and intense ambition. As a result, we may have struggled for years and even reached some of our goals but wound up feeling exhausted, our lives out of balance. As Deepak Chopra observes in his transformational book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, such desperate striving isn’t necessary or even desirable. In the natural world, creation comes forth with ease. A seed doesn’t struggle to become a tree―it simply unfolds in grace.

Daily Commute –
Contemplation through the Week

Most every unit of time is derived from some physical phenomenon from the human perspective–day’s journey of the sun, month’s journey of the moon, year’s journey of the earth; time itself in hours, minutes and seconds is a plaything of mathematics. An exception to this is the “7-day week”, as if it were a sacred gift from the divine even as life itself.

The “week” transcends the cosmos, like global evidence of divine bestowal…and it works for us–marking time in a cadence we can digest. The week provides a useful period to evaluate our actions and outcomes; so, I humbly offer this weekly regimen regardless of which day begins your week.
